How Having More Sex Helps Your Hormones And Health

There is a lot of evidence out there to prove that having more sex helps your hormones and assist you in improving your health.

Sex is one of the most natural things we do as human beings.

It works for your health on every level – from your hormones and your physical health, through to your emotional and mental health.

I talk about it in this video:

“I have low libido.”

“I never “feel like it” because I don’t feel attractive”

“I have a lot of fatigue and depression and haven’t had intimacy with my partner for a long time.”

These are just some of the things we hear from many of our current and also potential clients, which we see as a warning sign that indicates that your health is out of balance.
Not having intimacy with your partner not only affects your relationship in a negative way, it also affects your health and your hormones.

How having more sex helps your hormones and health

Improves your mood

Having intimacy boosts certain chemicals in your brain, including endorphins and opioids, which are known as “happy chemicals”.

Helps regulate your menstrual cycle

Researchers at both Stanford and Columbia universities discovered that women who have sex at least once a week had more regular menstrual cycles that those who had sex less frequently. (1)

Helps with headaches and migraines

Researchers from the University of Munster in Germany found that sexual activity can lead to partial or complete relief from headaches or migraines. They believed that this was due to the release of those feel good chemicals called endorphins in the brain during sex and which act as natural pain killers. (2)

Helps you look younger

A study by Dr David Weeks from the Royal Edinburgh Hospital in Scotland discovered that both men and women who reported as having sex on average four times per week looked around 10 years younger than their actual age. (3)

Boosts your immune system

Researchers at Wilkes University in Pennsylvania discovered that students who had sex less than once per week had a tiny increase in a certain antibody when compared to those who abstained completely. But those who had sex once or twice a week had levels that were 30% higher. (4)

So with this greatly improved immune system response from having more sex, it offers you better protection against colds and flu.

Helps improve your sleep

The act of sex can help you sleep better and I think most people can vouch for this fact.

When you have sex it boosts the production of the hormone oxytocin and lowers the stress hormone cortisol.

This help your body stay in a more relax state and so making it easier to fall asleep. In addition to this, it has been found that increased estrogen levels after sex can enhance a women’s REM cycle for a deeper sleep. (5)

Lowers risks during pregnancy

Having sex during pregnancy has been shown to reduce the risk of women developing serious pregnancy complications, such as a high level of protein in their urine, as well as swelling in the feet, legs, and hands.

The amazing thing is that a protein found in men’s semen can actually regulate a women’s immune system, shielding her from viruses.

So as you can see having more sex helps your hormones, helps your health physical restoration and also mental and emotional well-being.

Not working on your health restoration and allowing yourself to continue experiencing hormonal imbalances, weight issues and other health problems lowers your desire for sex, which makes you miss out on the great positives that it can bring into your and your partner’s life. (6)
