3 Steps To Healing Your Gut
When we talk about restoring the health of your gut, very often, we talk about a specific gut issue called leaky gut, also known as ‘increased intestinal permeability’.
Your gut’s basic role is to digest the foods you eat and then absorb what nutrients it needs from these foods, while excreting the rest.
When your gut is working properly, it forms a barrier that controls what gets absorbed into your bloodstream.
However, sometimes this barrier breaks down and starts allowing partially digested food, bacteria and toxins into the body.
This can then cause inflammation and your body to attack these unwanted intruders.
Further to this, it can also lead to what is called an autoimmune disease, such as Hashimioto’s thyroditis or Graves’ disease.
So what actually causes a leaky gut to happen?
Well, there are many reasons and these include:
- Various gut infections,
- Nutrient deficiencies,
- Toxic overload,
- Unhealthy diet,
- Alcohol consumption.
You also need to pay attention to your gut restoration if you have problems with your hormones.
So what can you do to reverse your gut issues and heal a leaky gut?
The answer is to remove the root cause or causes.
I know many people will start taking supplements to heal their gut issues, inclduing a leaky gut, but what you really need to focus on is dealing with the actual cause of your gut issues.
So what is it that you need to focus on to improve your gut health?
- Removing the foods that can cause inflammation.
- Dealing with gut infections, bacterial, fungal and parasites.
- Rebuilding your healthy gut bacteria.
