But if you are new to this term then simply put it’s about looking to cleanse and detox your body of unwanted toxins by drinking juices that can be made from various different ingredients.
Other health issues people like to use green juice cleanses for can include gut problems like gas, bloating, and a candida overgrowth.
Now as certified nutrition coaches we know the great value that eating a healthy whole foods plant diet can give your body and one of these is the ability to detox itself 24/7.
Unfortunately, there are many people who believe that even if they eat a healthy whole foods plant diet that they still need to go much further and do regular juice cleanses for example, which can typically be a 3-day juice cleanse, 5-day juice cleanse, or even longer.
Often people will do juice cleanses to lose excess weight but this in itself is not a healthy approach to take for weight loss.
In fact, people who do regular juice cleanses can unwittingly be suffering from an eating disorder.
Some of the other problems associated with doing a juice cleanse include the lack of fiber and low-calorie intakes that come with this way of eating.
