How Judy Managed To Reverse Type 2 Diabetes And Drop 30 Pounds

Can you reverse type 2 diabetes? Well, it depends on who you ask.

A regular doctor will tell you that it’s an irreversible condition that you’ll have for life and will need to take medication for.

The truth, however is that type 2 diabetes is a condition that you can balance naturally. We’ve seen it happen over and over again.

When Judy came to work with us, she was 100 lbs over weight. She had long-term type 2 diabetes, high cholesterol, high blood pressure and other health issues.

Type 2 diabetes complications.

Here’s a long list of complications that can happen as a result of having type 2 diabetes:

  • Up to 5 times more likely to develop heart disease or have a stroke,
  • Nerve damage, so a tingling or burning pain or numbness that you can experience in your fingers and toes and which can spread through your limbs,
  • Foot and lower leg amputations,
  • Eye damage (diabetic retinopathy),
  • Hearing problems,
  • Sexual dysfunction, like erectile dysfunction for men,
  • Increased risk of miscarriage and still birth,
  • Kidney disease,
  • Shorter life span. A Princeton University study of about 20,000 adults found that diabetes cuts about 8 1/2 years off life expectancy. (1)

What are the symptoms of type 2 diabetes?

Type 2 diabetes is the most common form of diabetes. If you have type 2 diabetes, that means that your body does not use insulin properly. This is called insulin resistance.

If you have have high fasting blood sugar levels, along with high cholesterol, high blood pressure, excess weight and high triglycerides, this condition is knows as metabolic syndrome and it can lead to type 2 diabetes.

Some of the symptoms of type 2 diabetes include:

  • Increased thirst where you just simply can’t seem to drink enough water,
  • Increased hunger (especially after eating),
  • Frequent urination,
  • Fatigue, feeling weak and tired,
  • Blurred vision,
  • Headaches.

Type 2 diabetes causes.

Again, you’ve probably heard that people with type 2 diabetes should stay away from carbohydrates and switch to a high protein diet instead.

Yet, healthy, whole food carbohydrates are not a problem at all.

Many studies have been conducted over the years that show a high carbohydrate diet can make a very positive impact on type 2 diabetes.

One such study reported that as many as two-thirds of diabetics were able to discontinue with their use of insulin.

Almost all of them stopped oral medication when they switched to a low-fat diet. (2)

Another study found evidence found how a plant-based or vegan diet can help treat type 2 diabetes and reduce key diabetes-related complications. (3)

So it’s not a healthy, whole food and high carbohydrate diet that’s the problem.

It’s a diet that’s high in fat – specifically saturated fat.

How Judy managed to reverse type 2 diabetes and drop 30 pounds in 90 days.

Judy was very determined to solve her insulin resistance problem and heal her body naturally. She wanted to be healthy for her children.

She wanted to be healthy for her community as she works in healthcare. And, of course, she wanted to be healthy for herself.

She had already heard about a raw food diet and a vegan diet and had tried to follow them in the past.

So we started working together and Judy was very committed. We created a special diet and lifestyle plan for her.

9 days after she started on a high raw food vegan diet, she emailed us to say that her blood sugar went down from 160 to 110.

Yes, she was eating a high-carbohydrate diet and not restricting herself in terms of carbs. And yes, she saw her blood sugar dropping as a result.

She consumed a lot of fruit in her new plan, along with green leafy vegetables and other healthy vegan whole foods. A vegan and plant-based diet has been shown to help people reverse type 2 diabetes.

6 weeks later, Judy released 20 pounds. She said that her energy levels had gone through the roof. Her skin was now glowing as well.

Then, she emailed us to say that her blood sugar levels had now come down to 98 – the lowest she and her doctor has ever seen it and at the top of the healthy range for fasting blood sugar. Her doctor then took her off some medications.

After 90 days, Judy lost 30 pounds. Her blood pressure and resting pulse were now both perfect.

Her high cholesterol levels had dropped.

Everyone around Judy started to notice her positive health changes and they wanted to know what she was doing to get such amazing results in such a short space of time.

    Hello. That’s epic! Thanks for sharing. The last bloodwork I had, also showed I have overall high cholesterol (248) and severe anemia. I was put on Rx supplements for the anemia, but I’m not taking any statins for high cholesterol. My Triglycerides were very high (178), the LDL not so good, the HDL was good. Recently, I changed my diet, after indulging during the holidays. I will have another blood work-up in March. Now, I am on a fruit-based & leafy greens raw diet, but I stopped drinking smoothies, because my triglycerides were high. I saw a video form the Fruit Doctor on YouTube about smoothies causing high triglycerides. Do you know if Judy’s triglycerides were in normal range in spite of drinking smoothies? I was wondering, what does Judy put in her smoothies? I have been making smoothie bowls with a frozen banana, a mango, strawberries or frozen cherries (thawed) with about 3-4 dates blended. Then, I eat it instead of drinking it. Sometimes, I top it with fresh berries, flax meal and chia seeds. I miss drinking smoothies. Thanks for any feedback. Peace.

    That is wonderful! I am pre diabetic and I am working on fixing
    the issue. I just seem to maintain or get worse. I was wondering
    how her thyroid was doing?
