Best Versus Worst Weight Loss Diet

What is the best weight loss diet and what is the worst when it comes to losing your excess weight?

Now first off it’s worth understanding that weight loss in the US alone is a huge billion-dollar-a-year industry.

So as you might imagine there is a huge amount of ‘experts’ out there in the industry who will try and convince you that they have the best answer for your weight loss transformation.

The big problem is that many people still see weight loss as being separate from their overall health.

What I mean is they think that whatever way they can lose weight is good to do because – it’s weight loss right and any weight loss is a positive – correct?

Wrong!

In truth you can lose weight on any diet even eating a junk foods diet by restricting your calories, but what about your overall health?

Many people ignore this and just focus on their weight loss but this is a big mistake.

Just because you have lost weight or already have a lean figure does not automatically mean you are healthy and there are many people who unfortunately fall into this trap.

Weight Loss Diet

Suffering from blocked arteries due to a poor diet, which can lead to a heart attack or a stroke is not uncommon and we have come across many people in this position.

Now one of the most loudly acclaimed dietary approaches to losing weight is the keto diet.

The basic approach is to eat a large amount of fat in your diet with very few carbs and this is supposed to help you lose weight and be healthy.

The reality though especially over the long term is very different.

Known unhealthy side effects due to following a keto diet plan include:

  • Kidney stones
  • Hypoglycemia
  • Impaired mood and concentration
  • Increased cholesterol levels
  • Constipation
  • Osteopenia/osteoporosis
  • And many more …

In fact, it has been documented and proven that people have died following a ketogenic diet, with one boy dying from acute pancreatitis.

So what you really need is a diet that is not only healthy for your body, including your hormones and gut health but also allows you to lose your excess weight naturally and still be able to enjoy eating plenty of healthy and tasty foods on your menu plan, without calorie restriction.

Thankfully science has helped us discover what diet can work best for not just our overall health but healthy weight loss too.

There was a study published in The International Journal of Applied and Basic Nutritional Sciences, and they compared the amount of weight lost by people on various eating plans.

Participants who took part in this 6-month study ate 5 different diets:

  • Omnivore diet, which includes all animal products
  • A semi-vegetarian diet with occasional meat intake
  • Vegetarian diet, which excludes meat, poultry, and fish, but includes dairy
  • Pesco-vegetarian diet, which excludes meat, but includes seafood
  • A plant-based diet, which excludes all animal products

Watch the video to discover which dietary approach worked best and how after six months the study participants lost more weight on this diet than people on any other diet by an average of 4.3%, or 16.5 pounds in weight!
